Carbon sequestration through reforestation is most successful when the cycle of growth is continued by harvesting the mature stand and growing another rotation of trees built from ambient CO2.

The Needs

Countries that have experienced rapid population growth and resource depletion will have lost the ability to supply the basic needs of their citizens. As the population increases in numbers and sophistication, they look towards the global market and import their basic and luxury needs from countries that have managed their resources (or haven’t finished squandering them).
